As the leaves change and fall, we invite into our lives elements of surrender. Surrendering into the ups and downs of our daily existence, our mortality. But perhaps there is another way to imagine surrender. How can we surrender into our purest nature? How do I surrender into the heart more deeply?
On October 25th, my teacher and dear friend David Shemesh (and I) will lead us in a heart focused meditation practice to help us answer these questions. This meditation will be unlike those that you’ve experienced with either David or I in the past. You’ll be moving around the space, interacting and being given prompts and tools to access the heart when you get lost.
We hope this process will allow us to create a deep communal connection with our hearts and those of others. Perhaps, together, we can reimagine enlightenment as coming from a collective opening of the heart, rather than an individual clearing of the mind? And really, who wants to do their deepest work alone??
And we’re also SO excited to be hosting the event in the *new* Center for the Enlightenment Arts at 301 Ten Eyck St in Bushwick. We hope this space can serve as a hub for the community to come together in practice, integration, support and service. More information on the center and offerings coming soon!
